DFG appoints new DKN member: Prof. Dr. Daniela Jacob

The German Committee Future Earth warmly welcomes Prof. Dr. Daniela Jacob as new member.

Prof. Dr. Daniela Jacob, director of Climate Service Center Germany (GERICS) in Hamburg, was appointed as new member of the German Committee Future Earth and succeeds Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Lucht. Climate scientist Daniela Jacob, who holds a PhD in meteorology, has been working on regional climate modelling for many years at research institutes such as the Max-Planck-Institute for Meteorology. Jacob is main author of the 5th progress report of the Intergovernmental Panel of Climate Change (IPCC) and Coordinating Lead Author for the IPCC Special Report SR1.5. Daniela Jacob has been head of research projects on regional climate modelling on a national (e.g. REMO) as well as international level (e.g. WCRP CORDEX) for various years. Moreover, she coordinates international research consortia and, being a member of several committees, advises and evaluates international institutions and research programmes. Since 2016, Jacob is visiting professor at the Faculty of Sustainability at Leuphana University Lüneburg.
